I say... I believe... Does anyone care about it?... I say... No..!
You get up in the morning; all seems to go right
unless you hear something,
Something about somebody’s loss.
You go back to bed and sleep with a hope of it being a
dream.
You wake up again only to realize that the initial realization
was a first meet with reality;
And by now, you are too numb to not face it again.
That moment when you realize that you have lost
somebody,
Somebody you have always followed, you always wanted
to interact with;
What remains now is a mere possibility of what could
have been.
We are too engrossed in what should have been than
what always is;
People tend to react rather than act, after the horse
is eventually bolted.
Thinking of that someone, you start wondering why it
hurts you so much,
That person meant nothing to you in terms of personal
relations;
The person was nothing but an outsider trying to
change the society.
There you are, that is what connects you so much to
that person;
With society being our roots, you surely wouldn’t want
someone to uproot your basis of life.
We mostly live for ourselves or at the most, our
family,
But for a person who lived for the society and at
large, people of his country;
The death to lay its icy hands on him in such a way is
a saddening thing.
After all the moments of grief and being in a shocked
state, you realize,
The world has lost just one out of many and you wonder
if there is still any?
As they say “Life goes on”, but you wonder for how
long, that very moment;
When you utter words and act as others didn’t want you
to,
There remain only ashes; and all the aspirations go up
with the smoke.
They say India is a democracy, and we have the right
to express, for good at least.
Now, it’s high time when I say “Welcome to Democracy,
Hypocrites”.
